As part a member of CDM Smith's Career Reboot Re-Entry Program you will spend 12 weeks working with peers in your career discipline on active projects. This is a paid temporary position. You will set goals for your program and present to your team at the end of your program what you have taken away from your experience.
Reboot has three Program Cycles - when you apply please pick the cycle in which you would like to be considered:
Cycle 1: January - March
Cycle 2: May - July
Cycle 3: September - November
As a member of the Automation Engineering discipline, you will contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:
Independently developing solutions for automation engineering projects.
This role requires an individual who is passionate about SCADA design and programming with a desire to enhance their skills.
Planning, developing, and coordinating automation tasks on small, medium and large projects with complex automation features under the supervision of a senior staff member.
Performing project assignments that require the development of new or improved techniques, procedures, processes, products, equipment, and executing established methods.
Working collaboratively with team members to conduct SCADA system testing and application development in our state of the art Automation Lab.
Assisting in new business development by contributing to marketing, project pursuits, and business operations.
Career Reboot Re-Entry Program: Automation Engineer
**CDM Smith Employment Type:**
To participate in CDM Smith's Reboot Re-Entry program you must be on a current career break of two or more years.
B.S. or M.S. in a specialty field of electrical, chemical, mechanical and or computer engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
3 years minimum years of experience since Bachelor's degree.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with programming of SCADA systems which includes some, if not all of the following:
Diverse PLC and HMI packages (such as GE iFix and/or Rockwell Studio 5000 / FactoryTalk View SE)
The configuration of SCADA servers, workstations, network and server configuration, wireless communication systems (i.e. cellular, radio, Wi-Fi), and development of SCADA reports.
Experience with design of control systems including drafting and development of P&IDs and control system architectures with AutoCAD, writing custom project specifications, and developing process control descriptions with input from the project team.
