ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The Vice President, Planning & Business Development is responsible for leading the planning, business development, project management, analytics and innovation function for the health system. This individual will work as a strategic leader and thought partner to our leadership team to drive key decisions and strategic business planning. The leader will be responsible for the implementation of Health Compass 2022 strategic plan, creating of clinical program/service line business plans, implementation of a system-wide Analytic Resource Center, oversight of an ePMO (enterprise project management office) and development of the Connecticut Children's Center for Innovation. The experienced leader will have the responsibility for identifying and designing growth plans, new market opportunities and new models of collaboration in existing markets. Drawing on a broad understanding of the healthcare environment, healthcare systems and business, this individual will work in with our physician, nursing and administration leadership to create proactive insights and plans that deliver sustainable results.. The responsibilities for the Vice President, Planning & Business Development will include, but are not limited to: Strategic Process Lead strategy development, planning and execution (Health Compass 2022 and clinical. program strategy) Develop business plans in partnership with Finance for prioritized initiatives Establish metrics and track the progress of strategic initiatives Develop \"game changing\" insights that lead to differential growth Ensuring accountability and follow-through of action items Analytics Executive accountable for establishing an Analytic Resource Center dedicated to providing thoughtful and valid insights for decision making Establish the infrastructure and model that enables effective data governance, \"fingertip\" analytics and predictive insights Growth Strategy Point person for all growth-related initiatives Lead monthly strategy sessions with the Strategic Growth Work Team and leadership briefings Act as a strategic thought partner to evaluate, validate and quantify opportunities Work in collaboration with the Finance team to develop pricing and negotiation tactics Enterprise Projects Executive accountable for the prioritization and execution of the Project Management Office (PMO) and the development of an ePMO Drive the strategic process on internal consulting projects Responsible for developing the hypothesis and analysis framework Drive the work of multi-disciplinary teams. Mentor and support the leaders to effectively manage project timelines, budgets and milestones After project initiation, work collaboratively with the operational team to execute projects and maintains strong relationships with clients. Center for Innovation Executive responsible for the development and implementation of the Connecticut Children's Center for Innovation. Oversee innovation infrastructure aimed at cultivating internal and external innovations to improve child health and provide a new revenue stream for the health system. Establish a platform that supports co-development and validation of innovations that drive market relevance. Executive Communication Prepare executive-level presentations to share with leadership including the Executive Management Team and Board of Directors Responsible for synthesizing numerous sources of data and key analysis and translating into specific actions Liaises successfully with physician, nursing and administrative leaders across the hospital who are subject matter experts for business opportunities Performs other related responsibilities as assigned. Supervises managers and potentially additional support staff as assigned. Education and Experience. Master's degree required. A minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience in a progressively challenging role with a demonstrated track record and knowledge of healthcare including budget, financial analysis, contract negotiations and revenue generation.
