The Senior Software Engineer configures Workday & other software applications based on business requirements. Additionally, the individual in this position will closely partner with the HR teams supported to understand their need and define requirements as well as work closely with others on the Workday configuration team to ensure stability across the platform as it continues to evolve. This position will configure and support the HR / HCM side of the Workday application possibly involving workstreams such as Absence, Core Configuration, Recruiting, Security, etc.
Partnering with other teams within HR as well as throughout Humana, the Senior Software Engineer will understand the business needs, help to define requirements, recommend changes, configure Workday, and test to ensure change requests help to improve the associate experience across Humana. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for deep knowledge of their individual workstream within Workday including features and functionality that are not yet utilized by Humana, but may be of benefit to the organization. This individual will partner with others on the Workday configuration team to understand impacts of various change requests throughout the system. As issues or questions arise, they will serve as tier 3 support to end users of the system, consistently working to ensure an ideal associate experience. With the associate at the center of our design decisions, this individual will consistently work to ensure the supported workstreams within Workday help associates efficiently and effectively working within the environment to complete their work within the system.
The Senior Software Engineer standardizes the quality assurance procedure for HR systems including Workday, oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes, researches issues and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues, and begins to influence department's strategy. Additionally, they will make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction as well as exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
+ Three+ years of experience configuring and supporting Workday or similar HRIS application
+ Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues through Workday reporting and configuration
+ Strong oral, written and presentation skills
+ Ability to influence and coach without hierarchical responsibility
+ Ability to leverage technology and tools to communicate, track, document, and analyze the utilization of talent systems
+ Experience working as part of an interdependent team supporting an enterprise HR application
+ Ability to engage and develop partners and primary system users
+ Associate's Degree in a related field or comparable experience
+ Experience implementing and stabilizing Workday within a company of similar scale and complexity to Humana
+ At least 1 full year cycle in the Workday system
+ Workday Business Process configuration experience
+ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
