Description of Role The Operations Division and Operational Risk Department are currently seeking high performing individuals with 3-6 years of work experience who exhibit strong leadership potential, communication skills, attention to detail and a strong desire to succeed in a fast paced and challenging work environment. The Operational Risk Department is also seeking high performing individuals to work with the business units and control groups ensuring Morgan Stanley has a transparent, consistent and comprehensive program for managing operational risk, both within each area and across the Firm globally; and effectively identify and mitigate Operational Risk while ensuring continued compliance with global regulatory requirements. The Operations Division partners with Sales & Trading, Finance, Legal, and Technology to execute the Firm's Institutional, Retail, and Asset Management businesses by developing strong client relationships, collaborating closely with its business partners supporting and settling transactions, devising and implementing effective controls, to enable to development of new structures, businesses, and markets. The Operational Risk Department looks at the risk of financial loss or other potential damages to the Firm's reputation due to inadequate or failed internal processes, people or systems, or from external events. While primary responsibility for managing operational risk lies within the business divisions and control groups, the Operational Risk Department designs, implements and monitors the company-wide operational risk program and operates as part of the Second Line of Defense, providing independent governance and oversight of operation risk management across the Firm. Successful candidates will have an interest or familiarity in one or more of the following: Trade Support, Trade Processing, Settlements, AML/KYC, Fraud Operations, Strategic Business Analysis, Data Science/Analytics, Process Validation, Cybersecurity, Fraud, Third-Party, and Technology risk Cash Management, Loan Servicing, Reconciliations, Regulatory Reporting, Risk Management, Financing and Collateral, Budgeting and Business Management, Projects, Wealth Management and Client Services.
