Quality Assurance Engineer: Production Support

Job Summary:

This position functions as a member of the product manufacturing team as clients us the products in their Chip Fabrication Plants. You will work with the Manufacturing teams of the client to understand current issues or concerns in regard to quality and product performance. Through interactive exchange and discussion your colleagues in the product manufacturing team will ensure quality objectives are met. This mid-level position offers great opportunity for growth and career development in a variety of Engineer, Manufacturing and Process roles.

Core Duties :

  • Prepares internal and external documents.
  • Interface to customer for quality related items and customer audits.
  • Investigation of quality problems and thereafter, implementation and verification of corrective action with focus on the prevention of reoccurrence through follow-up.
  • Investigation of, and response to, quality problems that occur from a customer complaint.
  • Working with other team members to work towards process improvements.
  • Support Failure Mode and Effect Analysis as needed.
  • Support production improvements by utilizing SPC techniques and tools such as JMP.
  • Improve the manufacturing processes to reduce manufacturing costs, improve quality and promote safety.
  • Pursue activities for continuous improvement related to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
  • Performance of other related duties related to the smooth operation as of the facility as required, including cleaning and general housekeeping.
  • Periodical product quality check through internal process audit and external supplier audit.
  • Additional tasks related to a smooth production facility operation
  • Education :

  • B.S. In Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience :

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in quality assurance positions that have customer-facing responsibilities. Knowledge and experience in ISO 9000 or similar quality management system.
  • Some leadership experience is highly desired
  • REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of statistical techniques such as Statistical Process Control for manufacturing process improvement and JMP application for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of and experience with QC tools used for problem solving; 5 Whys and Ishikawa/Fishbone diagram
  • Knowledge of measurement precision / capability analysis techniques such as gauge R&R.
  • Able to maintain ISO documents and record control.
  • Ability to generate and/or maintain monthly reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (both oral and written).
  • Comfortable speaking to, and in front of all levels of management.
  • Must be comfortable working with chemicals including, but not limited to, corrosives and organic solvents.
  • OTHER:

    Additional tasks, as assigned related to smooth facility operations many include but are not limited to, participation on the Environmental Health and Safety Committee and active promotion of safety and pollution prevention activities.

    FURTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • This job will require some travel.
  • Position may require working on various shifts as needed to ensure conformance.
  • Ability to speak Japanese is highly desired but not required
  • Salary: $60,000 to $70,000 Depending on Skills and Experience
