The Senior Director Project Management & On-boarding monitors and ensures timely and efficient implementation of key strategic projects originating within the Human Resources Department as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources. The Senior Director HR Project Management & On-boarding will coordinate with the organizational leadership and the human resources team members to ensure projects are efficiently, collaboratively, and successfully carried out, and will be responsible for tracking and trending projects. This role is of critical importance in fostering constructive relationships throughout the organization and ensuring the Vice President of Human Resources is kept up to date regarding progress. Working with the Vice President of Human Resources, prepare reports for upper management regarding status of projects. The Senior Director HR Project Management & On-boarding will also perform a key role in Safe Horizon's on boarding process for new staff and will be responsible for monitoring/evaluating the on boarding process and recommending and implementing enhancements as needed.. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides oversight for a variety of projects originating within the Human Resources Department.. Coordinates the planning, scheduling, and logistics of all project related activities.. Coordinates and participates in meetings with outside vendors, service providers, and liaisons with vendors/service providers during project implementation.. Tracks project performance and timelines to ensure the successful completion of short-and long-term goals and makes recommendations for process improvement.. Presents and/or prepares presentations and updates on high profile projects to be presented in senior leadership meetings; provides relevant project data and success measures.. Prepares final reports for completed projects with recommendations for future improvement.. Collaborates with Vice President of Human Resources to develop detailed project plans to. Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects. Ensure resource availability and allocation. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques. Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Report and escalate to management as needed. Perform risk management to minimize project risks. Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Meet with clients to ensure articulated project deliverables and clarify specific requirements of each project. Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals. Meet budgetary objectives and adjusts project constraints based on financial analysis. Develop comprehensive project plans, spreadsheets, and diagrams for presentations. ON-BOARDING & CAREER DEVELOPMENT. Supervise three Human Resources Coordinators and ensure efficient delivery of the following:. Organizing orientation programs (first day, first week, first month and first quarter). Acting as a mentor/resource to new employees as they transition into the organization. Monitor new hire turnover and retention rates. Schedule and oversee orientation sessions. Ensure new employees' information is effectively and accurately added to Safe Horizon's payroll system. Communicate with new hires before their start date to provide necessary information (e.g. work schedules and job offer details). Ensures employment paperwork is processed. Assist existing employees when they move to a new department or position. Conducting of employee surveys, analysis of data and making recommendations to improve on-boarding and career development processes. QUALIFICATIONS:. Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree in HR or related discipline preferred.. Degree in Organization Development or Human Resources preferred. PHR/SPHR preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus. 5+ years of experience in an HR consulting role or HR business partner role; not-for-profit experience a plus. 5+ years of proven project management experience. Strong demonstration of analytical skills and ability to prepare executive ready materials, including mastery of PowerPoint and Excel. Knowledge of HRIS database functionality, (preferably ADP Workforce Now), report writing and running queries is highly desired. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects simultaneously. Strong writing skills are necessary and required. Strong interpersonal/collaboration skills.. Ability to establish credibility/rapport with senior stakeholders. Able to adjust communication style based on the audience.
